Dr JOHN EATHER: MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Grad Dip Pall Care, FRACP.
Dr Eather graduated from the University of Queensland in 1975. He then worked as a junior doctor in Rockhampton Hospital Qld for two years and then in Canberra Hospital for another two years before commencing general practice in Canberra in 1979. He was a general practitioner for approximately 20 years. During this time, in 1984, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
In 1999, he received the Diploma of Palliative Care (Melbourne) and also started Physician training in Canberra at Canberra and Calvary Hospitals.
In 2004, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
In 2005, Dr Eather started working as a consultant physician in Taree and the surrounding areas and in 2006, started his own practice.
